Arrest Warrants Served

On August 3, 2015 Cumberland City Police served two arrest warrants on Kara Inez Miller, age 28 of Lonaconing, Maryland.  The warrants were issued in 2012 after Miller failed to appear in District Court on two separate incidents.  Miller was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner.  Miller was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on a total of $15,000 bond.

Charges: Failure to appear

 

Domestic Assault Arrest

On August 3, 2015 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to 6 Boone Street for a domestic assault complaint.  Upon the officer’s arrival, they made contact with the male victim.  While speaking with the victim, he informed the officers that his girlfriend, Annie Lee Carlton started an argument with him over money.  When he refused to provide Carlton with any money, she became irate and attacked him.  The victim told officers that Carlton struck him multiple times to his face and neck.  Officers were able to observe small cuts to the victim’s neck and chin. Officers also observed the victim to have a swollen eye.  Medical treatment was not required at the scene.  Carlton was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Carlton was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner.  Carlton was later released on her own personal recognizance.

Charge: Assault 2nd Degree

 

Shoplifting Arrest

On August 3, 2015 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to Save-A-Lot market located at 66 Queen City Drive for theft report.  Upon the officers arrival they made contact with a store employee.  Officers were advised that an unidentified customer alerted the employee that they observed a customer drinking a beverage inside the store without paying for the item.  The subject identified as, Jessica Lynn Miller was stopped as she was leaving the store. Miller admitted to drinking the beverage and placing it inside her purse.  Miller was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Miller was processed and issued criminal citation before being released.
