Theft

On September 2, 2014 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to Martin’s Market located at 739 Park Street for a shoplifting complaint.  When officers arrived at the location contact was made with the store manager.  Officers were advised by the manager that there was an intoxicated female inside the store filling up a shopping cart with food.  The manager said she overheard the female telling another subject that she didn’t have any money.  Once officers entered the store they observed a female later identified as, Jennifer Lynne Embert staggering around the store pushing a cart with several food items.  Officers observed one of the items to be opened and partially eaten.  Embert went toward the cash register and attempted to pay for her items but did not have any money to pay for the items.  Once Embert was denied the sale, officers observed the partially eaten item inside Embert’s purse.  Embert was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Embert was issued a criminal citation and released pending her trial date in District Court.

Arrested: Jennifer Lynne Embert                                   Age: 32 of Cumberland, Maryland

Charge: Theft less than $100.

 

 

Arrest Warrant Served

On September 2, 2014 Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Jarrett Antonio McBurroughs, age 23 of Baltimore, Maryland.  The arrest warrant was issued by the District Court of Maryland for Baltimore City.  The warrant charges McBurroughs with one count of second degree assault and dangerous weapon intent to injure.  McBurroughs was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner.  McBurroughs was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.

 

Arrested: Jarrett Antonio McBurroughs                      Age: 23 of Baltimore, Maryland

Charges: 2nd Degree Assault and Dangerous Weapon Intent to Injure.
