Trespassing Arrest

On January 1, 2014 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to the Union Rescue Mission located at 16 Queen City Pavement for a disturbance.  Upon the officers arrival they made contact with staff, who stated a male subject identified as William Robert Bernier was creating a disturbance.  Bernier was asked by the staff to leave the property but refused to leave.  Bernier was escorted off the property by the officers and told not to return or he would be subject to arrest.  Bernier told the officers he understood and left the area on foot.  Approximately one hour after Bernier was told to leave the property officers responded back to the Union Rescue Mission for a subject creating a disturbance.  As officers arrived at the location, they heard a subject yell from inside the Mission.  Officers then observed Bernier exit the Mission.  Bernier was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Bernier was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners Office for his initial appearance.   Bernier was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
