On Saturday January 4, 2014, Cumberland City Police served a Criminal Summons on Deborah Kneisley, age 50 of Cumberland.  The summons was issued as a result of a Theft investigation handled by Cumberland City Police Officers on December 20, 2013.  Investigation into this matter revealed that on two separate occasions on said date, Kneisley entered a business on Queen City Drive and took a quantity of store owned items and left the business without paying for them.  Kneisley was served and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

CHARGE:  Theft-Scheme Less than $1,000.00.

POSSESSION OF MARIHUANA

On Saturday January 4, 2014, at 8:16 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a business on Bedford Street in regards to a suspicious vehicle complaint.  Store personnel advised that the vehicle had occupied one of the fuel pumps and noticed that the driver remained seated in the vehicle for an unreasonable amount of time.   Officers made contact with David Cavanaugh-Okeefe, age24 of Laytonsville, Maryland.  Cavanaugh-Okeefe granted officers consent to search his vehicle and as a result, a quantity of marihuana was located.  Cavanaugh-Okeefe was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was criminally cited and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.
