Police Log – 10/20/14

On Sunday, 11:22 P.M., officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to 400 block Maryland Ave. for theft of services.  Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who informed officers that two subjects were in his cab and unable to pay the fare.  The victim further advised that one of the subjects had fled the area after advising he was going to get money to pay the fare. The victim further stated that the subject that fled never returned.  Officers then contacted Byron Morrison who was the other passenger in the cab.   Morrison informed officers that didn’t have any money so he couldn’t pay the fare.  At this time officers placed Morrison under arrest. Morrison was then transported to the Cumberland Police Department where he was processed and issued a Criminal Citation.  Morrison was then released awaiting trial in District Court.  The Cumberland City Police were able to identify the other suspect and charges are pending.
