Shoplifting arrest

November 10th, 2014                                                             Shoplifting

On 11/10/14 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a business located in the 400 block of Virginia Ave in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival Officer’s contacted store employees who stated that they observed a male subject conceal several items from the store and attempt to leave without paying for them. Officers then contacted the suspect who was identified as Harold James, 24, of Cumberland. Officers recovered the stolen items and as a result issued James a Maryland Criminal Citation for Theft under $100 and released him from the scene pending trial in District Court.

 

 

November 10th, 2014                                                              Bench Warrant Served

On 11/10/14 the Cumberland Police Dept served a bench warrant on 25 year old Nicole Robertson of Cumberland. The warrant stems from Robertson failing to follow conditions of probation on an original charge of Destruction of Property. Robertson was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where she was held on a $10,000 bond. Robertson was released to the custody of the Allegany County Detention Center.
