Police Log – 11/12/14

On 11/11/14 at 1226pm Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a business located in the 400blk of Virginia Ave in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival Officer’s contacted store employees who stated that they observed a male subject conceal several items from the store and attempt to leave without paying for them. Officers then contacted the suspect who was identified as Christopher McKinely, 30yoa of Cumberland. Officers recovered the stolen items and as a result issued McKinely a Maryland Criminal Citation for Theft under $100 and released him from the scene pending trial in District Court.

On 11/11/14 at 1256pm Officers again responded to the same business and made contact with store employees who advised that they observed a female conceal several items and attempt to leave the store without paying for them. As a result Officers contacted 30 year old Brandi Gaver of Augusta WV and issued her a Maryland Criminal Citation for Theft under $100 and released her from the scene pending trial in District Court.

 

November 11th, 2014                                                              Violation of Court Order

On 11/11/14 at 958pm Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a residence located in the 600blk of E Second St for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival Officers contacted the tenant who stated that a male subject whom she had an Ex Parte Order against arrived at her residence and was banging on her door attempting to get her to let him inside. The subject had left prior to Officer’s arrival. A short time later Officers were again dispatched back to the residence where they observed 32 year old Bobby Hockenberry knocking on the rear door. At this time Hockenberry was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct and violation of an Ex Parte Order. Hockenberry was currently awaiting a bond review at the District Court Commissioners Office. 

Hockenberry was also served with an Arrest Warrant stemming from an incident that occurred on 09/26/14 in the 200blk of Decatur St. Officers responded to a residence in reference to an assault. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that they were physically assaulted by Hockenberry. Officers observed minor injuries consistent with their account of the incident that did not require medical attention. Officers checked the area for Hockenberry and were unable to locate him. An Application for charges was filed resulting in the arrest warrant being issued. Hockenberry was charged with one count of second degree assault. Hockenberry was again awaiting a bond review through the District Court.
