Police deal with shoplifting complaint

Criminal Summons Served

On Tuesday, November 18, 2014 the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Pamela Evette Flanagan.  The summons stems from a disturbance which took place at a residence in the 500 block of Greene Street on November 12, 2014.  On that date officers responded to that residence and made contact with Flanagan and advised her of the complaint and requested that she keep the noise down.  Flanagan failed to comply and continued to create a disturbance.  Flanagan was placed under arrest and during transport she began to harm herself by striking her head on the transport vehicle.  Flanagan was then taken to the hospital for treatment and due to her condition she was released to the hospital. Charges were applied for through District Court which resulted in the summons being issued.

Arrested:

Pamela Evette Flanagan – age 36 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order, and second degree assault.

 

Bench Warrant Served

On Tuesday, November 18, 2014 the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Kimberly Ann Lewis.  The warrant charges Lewis with violating her probation.  Lewis was served with the warrant and then taken to District Court for her initial appearance.  Lewis was then held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $100.00.

Arrested:

Kimberly Ann Lewis – age 48 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Bench warrant for violating the conditions of her probation.

 

Bench Warrant Served

On Tuesday, November 18, 2014 the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Thomas Michael Marvin Jr.  The warrant stems from Marvin failing to appear for court.  Marvin was served with the warrant then taken to District Court for his initial appearance.  Marvin was released on his personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

Charges:

Bench warrant for failing to appear for court.

 

Disorderly Conduct

On Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at approximately 8:42 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to an establishment located in the 200 block of Virginia Avenue in reference to a subject inside creating a disturbance and failing to leave after being told to do so by staff.  Officers contacted the subject who was identified as Stephen Vincent May.  May was contacted and advised that he had to leave the establishment.  May was warned against creating any further disturbances.  May failed to comply and began to become argumentative by yelling at officers.  Several patrons in the area were disturbed by May’s continued behavior.  May was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.  May was issued a criminal citation and released pending his trial at District Court at a later date.

Shoplifting

On Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 7-11 Store located on Maryland Avenue in reference to a theft.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with a store employee who advised that the subject who stole the item from the store left prior to the officer’s arrival.  A description of the suspect was provided and additional officers were able to locate the subject in the 200 block of Maryland Avenue.  The subject was identified as Christopher Daquan Jones.  The stolen item was located in Jones’ pocket.  Jones was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.  Jones was then issued a criminal citation charging him with theft and released pending further action in District Court at a later date.
