Police Log – 11/26/14

On Tuesday November 25, 2014 the Cumberland Police responded to a business on Park Street for a theft complaint.  Investigation revealed Melissa Raye Llewellyn had shoplifted items from the business and was placed under arrest for the theft.  She was searched incident to arrest and numerous scheduled narcotics were found to be illegally in her possession.  Llewellyn was charged with Theft Less than $100 and four counts of CDS Possession Other Than Marijuana.  Llewellyn was taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was held on $5000 bond pending her next court appearance.

Theft Less than $100 and 4 counts of CDS Possession Other Than Marijuana.

 

Assault Arrest

On Tuesday November 25, 2014 officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 1500 block of Oldtown Road for a disturbance.  When officers arrived on scene they found approximately ten people involved in an argument.  Officers were able to separate the crowd to determine what the disturbance was about.  Further investigation revealed that Casey Leah Logsdon had become angry at a male subject.  Logsdon began using a key on the male subject’s vehicle, which was parked in the area, to scratch the paint.  The victim was in a nearby residence and witnessed Logsdon damaging his vehicle.  He confronted her and she pulled a small pocket knife out and lunged toward him.  To defend himself he held his hand up and was struck in the hand with the blade of the knife, causing very minor injuries.  No medical treatment was required.  Logsdon was arrested for 2nd Degree Assault, Destruction of Property, and Disorderly Conduct.  She was taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was released on her personal recognizance pending a trial date.
