December 21st, 2015 by WCBC Radio

On 12/20/2015 during the early evening hours, Cumberland City Police officers arrested a city woman after she allegedly interfered with officers during a traffic stop.  Officers were reportedly in the area of Bowen Street and Virginia Avenue making an arrest of a driver for license violations.  As the officers awaited a tow for the vehicle, they were approached by a female subject who began screaming obscenities at them.  Officers advised the female to leave the area, stop creating a disturbance, and to stop interfering several times. She refused to do so and continued to shout obscenities at the officers, and draw them away from the initial investigation.

Due to the female’s refusal to leave the area and stop causing a disturbance, officers placed her under arrest.  Once under arrest Elizabeth Sue White, 25, continued to create a disturbance and resisted being placed in the back of a transport vehicle.  White was transported to Cumberland City Police Headquarters where she was charged with the following:

Disturbing the peace – 1 count

Failure to obey a lawful order – 1 count

Disorderly Conduct – 1 count

Obstructing and Hindering Police – 1 count

White was processed for the above listed charges and then transported to the Allegany County District Court for a bond hearing.  White was released on her personal recognizance pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.
