Bench Warrant Arrest

On Tuesday, December 16, 2014 the Cumberland Police department arrested David Lee McCauley on a bench warrant for violating the conditions of his probation.  McCauley was served with the warrant and then taken to District Court for his initial appearance and was released on his personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

Arrested:

David Lee McCauley – age 48 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Bench warrant for violating the conditions of probation.

 

Bench Warrant Arrest

On Tuesday, December 16, 2014 the Cumberland Police Department arrested Chelsea Marie Cohen on two bench warrants.  The warrants stem from Cohen failing to appear for court on two separate court cases.  Cohen was served with the warrant then taken to District Court for her initial appearance.  Cohen was released on her personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

Arrested:

Chelsea Marie Cohen – age 24 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Two bench warrants for failing to appear for court.

 

Domestic Assault

On Tuesday, December 16, 2014 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located in the 400 block of York place in reference to a domestic assault.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with the female victim who stated that she was assaulted by Duane NMN Montaque-Bey.  The female victim stated that she heard a knock at the door and when she opened it Montaque-Bey forced his way inside and began assaulting her by striking her in the face.  The female victim ran away from Montaque-Bey but he followed her out into the street and continued to assault her by striking her in the face.  The victim stated that during the assault Montaque-Bey broke her cellular phone.  Prior to the officers arrival Montaque-Bey ran from the scene.  The victim was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Additional officers began searching for Montaque-Bey.  Approximately two hours later officers were able to track him down and affect the arrest in the 500 block of Maryland Avenue.

Montaque-Bey was also wanted on two additional warrants.  One of the warrants was for failing to appear for court on 12/16/2014.  The other warrant stems from an investigation of an armed robbery which took place on 12/12/2014.  On that date officer contacted a male victim who stated that he was robbed at gun point by Montaque-Bey.  Charges were applied for resulting in the arrest warrant being issued.

Montaque-Bey was taken to District Court for his initial appearance and was held on a total of $40,000.00 at the Allegany County Detention Center.

Arrested:

Duane NMN Montaque-Bey – age 47 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

(For the incident on York Place)  Fourth degree burglary, second degree assault, destruction of property, and disorderly conduct.

(Bench warrant)  Failing to appear for court.

(Arrest Warrant)  Armed robbery, robbery, assault first degree, assault second degree, use of a firearm in a violent crime, and theft.
