On Sunday, February 16, 2014 at approximately 6:42 a.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to east bound I-68, just east of the route 220 on-ramp in reference to a single vehicle motor vehicle crash.  Upon the officers arrival they located a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu flipped over on the vehicles roof.  Investigation revealed that this vehicle ran off the travel portion of the roadway at the beginning of the construction zone on the east bound side of I-68, struck the crash attenuator then flipped onto the vehicles roof.  The vehicle was being operated by Clyde Perry Michael, age 59, Frostburg, MD.  Michael was conscious, alert and was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by the Cumberland Fire Department Ambulance for further evaluation.  East bound I-68 was shut down for approximately forty five minutes due to the crash.
