Police Make Arrest and Serve Warrant

On Monday, September 25, 2017 at approximately 8:15 PM, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Virginia Avenue business in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Officers contacted the staff who advised that the suspect took items from the store and left without paying for them. Police later contacted the suspect and identified him as Steven Parr. Parr was arrested and transported to the police station. Parr was released on a criminal citation pending trial at District Court.

BENCH WARRANT SERVED On Monday, September 25, 2017, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on John Dillsworth. The warrant was issued as a result of Dillsworth failing to appear for his court case at the District Court of Allegany County. Dillsworth also had an active arrest warrant out of West Virginia. Dillsworth was arrested and taken before the District Court Commissioner. He was held at the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.
