A Monday afternoon assault on Columbia Avenue led to a police foot chase involving Trooper 5 in a wooded area of East Side, and eventually the arrest of 19 year old Jobe McDowney, of Washington DC. McDowney has been charged with Attempted Felony Assault, Misdemeanor Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Carrying A Deadly Weapon and Disorderly Conduct.
The assault was reported by a 27 year old victim, who claimed a man displayed a knife and threatened him. McDowney was also served with criminal summons related to alleged offenses in the 100 block of Grand Avenue and on Henderson Avenue. Alleged victims in those incidents included a male and female, both 20 years of age.
