Police Make Arrest on Outstanding Bench Warrant

On February 8th, 2021, the Cumberland City Police arrested Justin Haskell Day, 39, of Green Spring WV. Day was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant for failing to appear in District Court on December 18th, 2019, on a previous charge of driving on a suspended license. Day was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was released on his own personal recognizance.

 Also at this time, Day was served with a Criminal Summons for an incident which occurred on April 4th, 2020. During this incident, it is alleged that Day went to a residence in the 600 block of Greene St and created a disturbance. The disturbance escalated and Day was said to have assaulted a male victim at the residence. Day fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival on scene. Charges were filed on Day and a Summons issued. He was served the summons and released, pending trial in District Court.

Charges: Bench Warrant – Failure to Appear, Assault 2nd Degree, Trespassing, Disorderly Conduct.
