On Friday, the Cumberland City Police Department responded to the 300 Block of S. Central Ave for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, a male victim was contacted. The victim advised officers he had become involved in a verbal argument with a female inside the home. He stated the female then threw a cigarette at him. When the victim bent over to pick up the cigarette, the female attacked him, causing visible injury to his neck, back, and shoulder. As a result of the investigation, Angela May Dennison, 31, of Cumberland MD, was placed under arrest. She was taken before the District Court Commissioner where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. She is currently being held on $7500 bond.

On Friday, August 23rd, 2019, The Cumberland City Police Department arrested Jason Lloyd Yaider III, age 20, of Ridgeley WV. Yaider was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant for failing to appear in Allegany County District Court on previous charges for Malicious Destruction of Property. Yaider was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held on $2000 bond.
