Police Make CDS Arrest

On Thursday, January 10th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Keith Louis Wilkins.  The warrant was issued by District Court after application was made relating to an incident that occurred January 5th, 2019 on Maryland Avenue.  On this date, an officer from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the parking lot of the 7 Eleven in reference to a male harassing patrons.  When the officer arrived, he made contact with the male who was identified as Keith Louis Wilkins.  Wilkins was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant and was taken into custody.  A search of his person revealed that he had a quantity of different non-prescribed narcotics, a quantity of marihuana, and a pair of brass knuckles on him.  Wilkins was charges with 4 counts of CDS possession with intent to distribute narcotics, CDS possession not marihuana, CDS possession of marihuana, and concealing a dangerous weapon.  He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.

On Wednesday, November 14th, 2018 the Cumberland Police Department responded to the Queen City Flea market for a complaint of subjects removing items from a dumpster on the property.  When officers arrived, contact with made with Nathan Lee Broadwater and Samantha Jo Flanagan.  While officers were speaking with Mr. Broadwater, officers observed what was believed to be CDS paraphernalia in plain view inside a vehicle that they had arrived in.  A subsequent search was conducted and numerous other CDS related paraphernalia were recovered.  Both Flanagan and Broadwater were arrested and charged with theft and possession of CDS paraphernalia. 


Flanagan also had two outstanding warrants for a failure to appear for trial and violation of probation.  She was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.  Broadwater had his bond review with the District Court Commissioner and was released on his own personal recognizance pending trial.
