Police Make Drug Arrests

On Friday an officer from the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of Columbia Street where they made contact with the operator Brian Kelvin Reddy II. A K-9 was requested which indicated a positive alert on the vehicle.  A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed several items of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia. Reddy was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department. Once at the police station a quantity of suspected heroin, suspected fentanyl, and a sum of US currency were located on his person, which indicated the distribution of the controlled dangerous substances. Reddy was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was released on an unsecured bond of $10,000.

 

Arrest: Brian Kelvin Reddy II, age 32, Baltimore Maryland.

Charges: Possession With Intent to Distribute, Two Counts of Possession Not Marijuana, Two Counts of Possession Paraphernalia

 

On Saturday an officer from the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 68 near the Maryland Avenue Exit. The officer then made contact with the occupants, John Temitope Babatunde, and Nicholas Armando Lassiter. The officer then developed probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle. After a subsequent search of the vehicle the officer located a quantity of suspected marijuana which would indicate the distribution of the controlled dangerous substance. Lassiter and Babatunde were placed under arrest and taken before a District Court Commissioner where Lassiter was released on an unsecured $10,000 bond, and Babatunde was held on a $5,000 bond.

 

Arrests: John Temitope Babatunde, age 22, Hyattsvile Maryland.

 Nicholas Armando Lassiter, age 24, Landover Maryland.

 

Charges: Possession With Intent to Distribute, Conspiracy to Commit Possession With Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana More than 10 Grams.
