A lady who was a driving force in the Arts community in Cumberland, Mrs. Gloria Saville, passed away on Wednesday. Aside from being a collector herself, Mrs. Saville was dedicated to promoting the interest and cause of local talents. She was instrumental in establishing The Saville Gallery in honor of her husband, Buford. The Gallery is a professional art space dedicated to the exhibition of local, regional, and national artists. Mrs. Saville was part of a pioneering movement that included other key local figures in establishing a bonafide arts district in Cumberland. She served on the Allegany Arts Council, the Gilchrist Gallery Boards and was an honorary member of the Cumberland Theatre Board. Local business leader Jeff Hutter was a longtime friend.
