Public Safety Encourages Staff to Give Back to Those in Need

November 10th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services kicked off the Maryland Charity Campaign with its 11,000 employees this morning. To get employees into the spirit of giving, Secretary Stephen T. Moyer, (Retired Maryland State Police), challenged Gary McLhinney, Director of Professional Standards, Police, Correctional Officer and Labor Liaison, (Retired Baltimore City Police), to a game of Wii Table Tennis. While the challenge was a way to get everyone involved, Secretary Moyer said giving back to the community is something he takes seriously. “It makes a huge difference and it is one way we can bond as a team,” Moyer said. Currently nearly 700 charities participate in the campaign.
