Pugh Pleads Guilty To 4 Counts In ‘Healthy Holly’ Scandal

November 21st, 2019 by WCBC Radio

WBAL reports with former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh, who pledged in her inaugural address to be a "servant leader" pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to charges related to her sales of children's books. On Wednesday, federal prosecutors announced an 11-count indictment against Pugh and related guilty pleas from two former aides. Pugh, who was elected in 2016, resigned in May, becoming Baltimore's second mayor in less than a decade to step down amid scandal. Pugh pleaded guilty to four of the 11 counts: conspiracy to commit wire fraud and three tax evasion charges. The hearing remains underway. The terms of the plea agreement are not yet clear

ANY elected official convicted of crimes while in office should receive the MAX sentence, NO plea bargains and be financially punished well beyond what they “stole”. These folks have violated / have taken advantage of the taxpayers who put them in office. PERIOD!! Their job isn’t to look out for their best interest but the interest of the taxpayers no matter where they are, that includes this area as well!

      > I couldn’t agree more! NO elected official, no matter how “high up”. And hopefully this comes to fruition.

No politician is above the law. However there are a few who have gotten away with crimes.
