Pump Prices Moving Up

February 13th, 2021 by WCBC Radio

Gas prices across Maryland increased by up to two cents in most areas over the last week and are up respectively three cents in Hagerstown and five cents in Frederick. Increasing pump prices have been supported by higher crude oil prices and gas demand, which grew slightly last week, according to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA). Pump prices continue to rise despite the overall sustained lower demand and EIA’s latest report showing that total domestic gas stocks grew. Based on current trends, drivers will likely see pump prices continue to increase ahead of spring.

The gas price average in Maryland today is $2.48, up respectively two cents from last week, six cents in the last month, and 16 cents from this date last year.

Today’s national gas price average is $2.50, up five respectively cents in the last week, 17 cents in the last month, and eight cents from this time last year.
