Dr. Ray Kiddy Named Interim Principal at Bishop Walsh School

July 27th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Dr. Raymond Kiddy has been named interim principal of Bishop Walsh by the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools. The appointment was made after the announcement that current BW Principal Ann Workmeister is leaving to take a position with the Frederick County Public Schools System.

Kiddy joined BW full-time in the fall of 2015 as dean of students and athletic director, after retiring from the Allegany County Public School System. He has nearly 40 years of experience as an administrator, educator and coach. In addition to Bishop Walsh, he has served as a coach at the high school and collegiate levels.

“I started my career at Bishop Walsh as an educator and am excited to be serving as the school’s interim principal for this coming year,” says Kiddy. “I would like to thank Mrs. Workmeister who has worked hard in the position of principal. Under her leadership, enrollment has held steady, science and technology programs have expanded and the school has created a strong, five-year strategic plan. We wish her well in her new position.”

Bishop Walsh, which is currently celebrating its 50th year anniversary, is the only Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic School in far Western Maryland.

“Dr. Kiddy’s knowledge and experience, coupled with his genuine dedication and commitment to the students and the school community are to be commended,” says Dr. Barbara Edmondson, superintendent of the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools.
