Race-Based Discipline Passed in Maryland

August 10th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

President Barack Obama is backing a controversial campaign by progressives to regulate schools’ disciplinary actions so that members of major racial and ethnic groups are penalized at equal rates, regardless of individuals’ behavior. The progressive’s campaign for race-based discipline policies also won a victory in Maryland July 24. The state’s board of education established a policy demanding that each racial or ethnic group receive roughly proportional level of school penalties, regardless of the behavior by members of each group. The board’s decision requires that “the state’s 24 school systems track data to ensure that minority and special education students are not unduly affected by suspensions, expulsions and other disciplinary measures”.  Disparities would have to be reduced within a year and eliminated within three years. Allegany County Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Cox says he isn’t completely versed on all of the specifics at this point.

This is just one more effort to completely remove all responsibility from those who do not attempt to follow rules/laws in our society. If someone breaks the rules they should be disciplined based on their respective misbehavior, not a politically correct formula. The conservative silent majority must put a stop to this madness in the upcoming election and remove all from office who do not follow our Constitution and common sense. We are headed for a lawless society ran by the extreme left and progressives. If this trend isn’t stopped our country will fall as all decadent societies of the past did. Our Board of Education should resist all efforts by the State to force them to apply such a ludicrous, unfair, policy.
Under this policy if ten minority children break in and steal all the computers in a school and two non-minority children help them, only two of the minority children can be disciplined. Does that make sense. What happens to the eight minority children who are not disciplined? Is it fair to the two minority children who are disciplined?
In short we as a Nation have gone completely nuts, my opinion, which I hope I still have the right to have.

Thank you for your comments. This is the antithesis of a “color blind” society. Martin Luther King would be rolling in his grave right. Your analogy of the stolen computers is perfect.

Look, let’s be honest here. Much of our minority society has fallen apart. You can measure it in single-parents families, or out-of-wedlock births, reading levels, or incarceration levels, or educational attainment, but it is a statistically proven fact.

You can’t correct a problem until you admit its existence. This is just another attempt to deflect attention away from the problem.

“Animal Farm,” “1984,” the fall of the Roman Empire. Up is down and down is up.

I am shaking my head in complete disbelief at this and pray for true change, not the narcissistic, sociopathic, teleprompter baloney of the past three years.

It feels like a bad dream….

Obama needs to get out of the education discipline business. Actually if someone were to steal then all are arrested and expelled upon a fair trial at Juvenile court only if found guilty.
