On 04/27/2017 a joint investigation was initiated by the Allegany County Sheriff's Office and the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) into allegations that a registered sex offender had entered onto public school property in Cresaptown without the required authorization.
As a result, an arrest warrant was obtained for 36 year old Perry Nelson Hamilton, Jr. Hamilton was later located and arrested by the Maryland State Police on 04/28/2017 and taken into custody without incident.
He was charged with Sex Offender Entering School Property Without Required Authorization. Hamilton was released on personal recognizance after bond review, and is currently free pending trial.
