Report: Baltimore Delegate Faces Ethics Investigation Amid Sexual Misconduct Claims

June 15th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

The General Assembly's ethics committee is investigating Del. Curt Anderson, a Baltimore Democrat, for alleged sexual misconduct and sexual harassment, The Baltimore Sun reports.

The Sun reports five women–two former staffers and three fellow lawmakers–talked to an outside investigator about Anderson's conduct.

Prior to entering politics, Anderson was a reporter at WMAR-TV and WBAL-TV. WBAL-TV is owned by Hearst Television, which also owns WBAL NewsRadio 1090.

The allegations against Anderson, the chair of the Baltimore City delegation, include an alleged sexual assault 14 years ago. Anderson, for his part, denied the allegations when reached by the newspaper.

The Sun reports that a former staffer filed a police report in December about a 2004 incident in which Anderson allegedly locked her in his Baltimore office, kissed her over her protest, pushed her onto a sofa, took off her clothes and performed oral sex on her.

Anderson told the newspaper he denied having "any kind of a relationship with her." Anderson has not yet returned calls from WBAL NewsRadio 1090 seeking comment.
