The Lavale Rescue Squad will have an open house event Saturday to showcase its services and newly remodeled $1.2-million facility at 977 National Highway. The event, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., is also being held in an effort to attract new volunteers who could become trained members of the squad that is celebrating its 45th year of community service. Ken May, president of the LaVale Rescue Squad, said squad units will be on display and the station will be available for walkthrough. Members will be present to greet the public. Light refreshments and a few children’s activities are also planned
