Ridgeley Men Arrested On Heroin Charges

On Saturday, Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on John Brennan, age 23 of Ridgeley, West Virginia. The summons was issued as a result of November 8, 2015 incident that occurred at the Allegany County Detention Center. Upon being processed for housing, booking officers observed a small baggie of Heroin fall to the floor after Brennan took off his sock. Brennan grabbed the suspected Heroin and put the baggie in his mouth. Detention Officers were able to safely remove the Heroin. Brennan was served and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

CHARGES: Possession of Heroin, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.

Also on Saturday evening, at 8:42 pm, a Cumberland City Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on Queen City Drive for a registration violation. Contact was made Tyler Johnson, age 26 of Ridgeley, West Virginia. The officer ran Johnson’s driver’s license information and it was learned that Johnson had a suspended driver’s license. Johnson was asked to exit the vehicle and upon doing so, the officer noticed that Johnson had something in his mouth. Johnson was directed to remove the item and upon doing so, Johnson spat a baggie of Heroin to the ground. A hypodermic syringe was found in Johnson’s pants pocket. Johnson was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was processed and served. He was taken to the Allegany County District Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing and was held on a $3,000.00 dollar bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
