Robbery Reported In Narrows

On Sunday, May 25, 2014, at approximately 11:54 AM a lone suspect confronted an employee at the Sunoco Gas Station at 10307 National Highway in Cumberland. The suspect approached the employee as the employee was exiting the bathroom and struck him in the face with his fist. The suspect then took an undetermined amount of cash from the employee and fled on foot towards the Allegheny Passage.. 



The Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. With the assistance of the Maryland State Police, Cumberland City Police, K-9 dogs from the Maryland State Police and Cumberland City Police and Maryland State Police helicopter "Trooper 5", a search of the area was conducted , but the suspect was not located.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6-01 in height, and medium build. He was wearing a black sweat jacket and black jogging pants. 

The victim was transported to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries.

If callers wish to remain anonymous, they can call the Allegany/Mineral County Crime Solvers at 301-722-4300, where callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1500.00 for information leading to an arrest in this case.

The investigation is continuing by the Allegany County Sheriff's Office and C3I.
