Rocky Gap GM Says Numbers Could Be Better

July 15th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

Although the crowds have been steady since the opening, the General Manager at the new Rocky Gap Casino and Resort reports that the revenue numbers haven’t been quite as strong as anticipated. The casino did rake in $700,000 in  its first ten days in May- and a total of $2.5 million through the end of June, but GM Scott Just said they actually had projected slightly better numbers. He described the initial revenues generated as “down”. He said the bureaucracy involved in finally securing a license and getting state approval to open led a a later than expected opening- which is partly responsible for the slow start.
