Thursday paid off in a big way for the Rocky Gap Casino Resort with the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission approving a merger of ownership and giving the go ahead for additional slot machines. The agency approved the proposed $128 million merger of Lakes Entertainment, which owns the resort, and Las Vegas-based Golden Gaming. Also given approval was the request to add 54 slot machines and create a new outdoor gambling area. This will boost the casino’s slots total to 631 even as other Maryland casinos have been cutting back on slot machines
