U.S. Route 220 will continue to be closed to through traffic between Stoney Run and Pine Swamp for at least two more hours, according to the Keyser Fire Department.
The Mineral Tribune reports the road was shut down earlier today following a two-vehicle accident which caused fuel to leak and run across Route 220 and into New Creek.
Mineral County Special Operations were called out to contain the fuel both on the road and in the creek and emergency crews are currently awaiting the arrival of clean-up contractors, according to Keyser Volunteer Fire Department chief Brett Biddle.
No injuries were reported in the accident.
