Arguments over legalized same-sex marriage spurred a 10-hour long hearing Friday. According to WBAL News, legal activists on both sides of the debate provided arguments for members of the House Judiciary and Health and Government Operations Committee on Friday that lasted into the evening. Governor Martin O'Malley says he wants a gay marriage bill passed in order to provide stable homes to children. If passed, the legislation would make Maryland the eighth state to legalize same sex unions.
