Scenic Railroad Offers Christmas in July

July 7th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

No time of the year is more exciting and fun than Christmas. But the traditional Holiday period can also be hectic and besides, Christmas is more fun when the weather is nicer. That’s why the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad is bringing Santa to town this weekend for Christmas In July. Special train rides for the family, treats for everyone and of course a visit from Santa Claus, who is on vacation as well, from the North Pole. Train rides depart from the historic Western Maryland Railroad Depot in downtown Cumberland on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Each Christmas in July passenger will enjoy a ride on the Scenic Route of the railroad along the shore of the beautiful Potomac River and up through the mountains around Cumberland. Hot cocoa, juice and snacks will be served and everyone gets a special gift to remember the ride. On the trip will be the telling of a wonderful new holiday story called the Christmas City Express.
