School Board Approves Separation Agreement Between Board And Dr. David Cox

The Allegany County Board of Education, during Tuesday’s meeting,  unanimously approved the separation agreement between the board and outgoing school superintendent David Cox. Cox was offered, and has accepted a job as the head of the Sullivan County Tennessee school system, and is slated to begin duties there on August 1st.   Although the board approved the agreement- attorney Mike Llewellyn told WCBC News following the meeting that the terms or details can’t be released because it has not yet been ratified. During the meeting, the board briefly discussed the process that will be used to identify an interim superintendent. That process is not yet fully developed- although it was noted that the interim position will be advertised internally. Board member Tammy Fraley said she would like assurances that there is no short list of candidates already in place…
