School Board Hears Updates During Work Session

March 10th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

The Allegany County Board of Education heard reports on an economic impact study, capital projects, multi media communication, and habitual truancy during a work session held Tuesday night.

The board also heard, heard about and reviewed student art and music projects during the 90 minute session.  Many of the artistic interpretations will be displayed in the Saville Gallery in coming weeks.  Board members Laurie Marchini and Wayne Foote are pictured here admiring the work of students.

The board also heard from long time community schools activist Tom Marsh, who encouraged the members to revisit the concept of community schools.  Marsh stated that several former boards ignored the will of the people and had hidden agendas that led to closing facilities.
