School Board’s chief of security vacating position

Matt Marlowe, Assistant Supervisor of Student Support Services and School Safety for Allegany County Public Schools, has accepted a position with Anne Arundel County Public Schools. His last day with ACPS was January 29, 2020.

               “It was a difficult decision to leave, but in the end, it was in the best interest of my family,” said Mr. Marlowe. “I will miss all of the great people I had the opportunity to work with in Allegany County.”

               “We appreciate all the leadership that Matt provided in all of his roles within our school system,” said Interim Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Jeff Blank. “We wish him and his family all the best in the future.”

                ACPS is currently in the process of filling this vacancy, which is anticipated to be complete within the next several weeks. In the meantime, other school system staff is absorbing Mr. Marlowe’s duties and responsibilities.
