Allegany County Public Schools will hold the second parent conferences of the 2015-2016 school year on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, and Thursday, February 25, 2016. The school system will continue its use of an early dismissal and a delayed opening format for these meetings in order to keep schools open for students for a portion of the days.
On Wednesday, February 24, 2016, schools will dismiss three-hours early, and the second half of the day will be used to host parent conferences at both the elementary and secondary levels. On Thursday, February 25, 2016, schools will have a three-hour delayed opening. The morning will be used for elementary parent conferences only. Secondary schools will participate in professional development activities during this time.
Please note that secondary parent conferences will only be held on Wednesday. Elementary schools will follow the same school-based procedure for scheduling conferences as in the past, and information will be sent home with students.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to take advantage of Parent Conferences. This is a great opportunity to meet teachers and review with them students’ academic and behavioral progress.
