Scooter Theft Alleged On Gay Street

On June 2, 2018 the Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 900 block of Gay Street for a theft of an electric scooter.  The adult female victim had provided the name of the suspect, Justin William Frazier, as being the person who stole the scooter.  As police were responding to the residence, officers observed Frazier operating the scooter in the area of Park Street.  Frazier was detained while another officer met with the victim.  The victim explained she knew Frazier and that he had just visited her residence.  She left Frazier alone in the residence for several minutes and when she returned she found him and the scooter to be missing. Frazier was placed under arrest and issued a criminal citation for Theft $100 to under $1500.  He was released pending trial in District Court.  The scooter was returned to the victim.
