Second Meeting Focusing On Downtown Issues Held

A second meeting focusing on issues impacting downtown Cumberland was held Thursday evening at Windsor Hall. It was a follow up to a very successful July meeting that saw 150 citizens pack the hall voicing a wide range of concerns ranging from drugs to loitering and panhandling. Ed Mullaney, Downtown Manager, said the reason for the second meeting was to demonstrate that there is a serious effort underway to address all of the concerns that have been identified. Evidence of improvement has almost been immediate according to City Councilman Harold “Butch” Hendershot, especially when it comes to law enforcement.
