Second Passenger Dies Following Route 42 Accident

The Cumberland Times News reports ann 80-year-old Virginia woman died Friday as a result of injuries she suffered on Thursday when the vehicle she was a passenger in struck a snowplow, Maryland State Police said Friday. Phyllis Croy of Linville was a passenger in car that collided with a private contractor plow truck. 

Croy is the second crash victim to die as a result of the accident. Croy was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., on the day of the collision. 

According to Maryland State Police, Jo Ann Davis, 66, also of Harrisonburg, was driving a 2008 Hyundai Elantra north on Friendsville Road when she lost control of the vehicle on the snow- and ice-covered road. The vehicle traveled into the southbound lane, hitting the plow operated by a private contractor. The collision remains under investigation by the McHenry Barrack and the Maryland State Police CRASH Team.
