Sen. Cardin Introduces Bill To End Racial Profiling

For the second consecutive year, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin introduced a bill to end racial profiling- but despite the recent high profile cases in recent years, it remains to be seen how effective the effort will be. Members of civil rights organizations met in Washington in September to discuss a strategy for passing the End Racial Profiling Act, a bill that lays out a national, comprehensive approach to ending racial discrimination by the nation’s law enforcement. The meeting was convened by Cardin, who introduced the bill in May 2013, only to watch it die in a gridlocked Congress.
