The Allegany County Commissioners met with the District One Legislative Delegation last week to outline the county’s priorities going into 2016- and not surprisingly one of those is funding for a new Allegany High School. The county has been working with the board of education in an effort to reduce the cost of the school since bids came in at around $60 million- well above the available funds. State Senator George Edwards says its too early to secure additional state dollars since the project has not yet been re-bid- but he is confident the state will be a solid financial partner to help bring the new school to fruition…
