Senate President Puts Doubt on Additional Funding

Although he acknowledges the dire need to for additional transportation funding, the president of the Maryland Senate is expressing doubt lawmakers will agree to do so. Senate  President Mike Miller predicted that there is neither the public sentiment or political will to see a gas tax hike in October when the General Assembly meets in special session.  Miller notes that Maryland hasn’t raised the gas tax since 1992 and should be considered, but adds it doesnt appear a realistic option at this time.
