Sex Abuse Victims Hope For Action In MD Following Grand Jury Report In PA

WBAL reports that Maryland survivors of the sex abuse scandal in the Catholic Church hope the release of a grand jury report in Pennsylvania will lead to action in Maryland. Pope Francis has written a letter apologizing on behalf of the church. The letter comes a week after a damaging grand jury report out of Pennsylvania detailed sex abuse in the church and the elaborate scheme to cover it up. In Maryland, Gloria Larkin, a graduate of Archbishop Keough High School, is speaking out publicly for the first time about the abuse.  She said what happened in Pennsylvania is pushing her to call for something similar in Maryland.  Larkin said she was sexually abused from 1971 to 1972 by the school's director of religious services, the Rev. Neil Magnus, and Chaplain Joseph Maskell, both deceased.  Larkin said she takes no solace in the pope's 2,000-word letter seeking forgiveness…
