The Cumberland Times News reports police, fire and ambulance units responded to an accident Tuesday after a tractor-trailer struck a State Highway Administration vehicle on Interstate 68 east of Cumberland. The Allegany County 911 emergency center indicated the crash occurred at about 8:20 a.m. in the westbound lanes in the area of Exit 48. Maryland State Police, Bedford Road and Baltimore Pike volunteer units responded to the scene. Volunteer units were also dispatched for two fuel spills at the location within 20 minutes of the first alert.
