During the months of September and October 2018 numerous vehicles, houses, and outbuildings were broken into in Westernport, Piedmont and surrounding areas. As a result, deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation that resulted in the execution of a search warrant for one residence. In addition, several other residences were searched in relation to the case. During the searches numerous stolen items were recovered and the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office is in possession of unclaimed property. The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office is requesting that anyone in Westernport, Piedmont, and surrounding areas that has had property stolen in the past two months and have not filed a police report, please contact Deputy K. Rounds at 301-777-1585 regarding recovered property. Anyone having any additional information relating to stolen property or thefts in those areas is encouraged to contact the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office.
