Sheriff’s Department Makes Disturbance Arrest

On Sunday at approximately 3:53pm Deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a private residence on Cecil Avenue in the Cresaptown area for a reported disturbance.

While responding, Allegany County 911 advised of a physical disturbance had occurred between two males outside of the residence and one of the individuals was striking the caller’s vehicle with a baseball bat and that the caller had been threatened with a handgun.

Upon arrival Deputies found a dark colored Jeep with major damage to the windshield, fender, headlights and rear hatch. Deputies then made contact with all parties involved. Pursuant to the investigation deputies learned that a male had been threatened with a firearm and had his vehicle damaged with a baseball bat.

Pursuant to the investigation and witness/victim statements, deputies arrested 47 year old Robert Simpson of Cresaptown, Maryland.

Simpson was subsequently charged with the following:  

                                                                                         

Assault First Degree

Assault Second Degree

Reckless Endangerment

Handgun on Person

Malicious Destruction of Property over $1,000

Firearm Use in Felony/Violent Crime

Disorderly Conduct

Malicious Destruction Missiles at Vehicle

 

Simpson is being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
