Sheriff’s Office Makes Burglary Arrest In Westernport

On Sunday, October 7, 2018 at approximately 5:00 AM, Deputies of the Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Vine Street in Westernport for a reported breaking and entering in progress. 

The complainant advised 911 that a subject kicked in a door to his residence and entered, prior to being chased out by the homeowner. 

Upon arriving to the area, the caller was following the male on foot and was able to identity and provide the location of the suspect to deputies.

The suspect was identified as Joshua Scott Lee-28 years old of Westernport. Pursuant to the investigation it was discovered that Lee had forcibly entered into the residence without permission and damaged the property while doing so. After leaving the residence he was observed by the complainant near several other residences in the area. Deputies located additional damage to residences on Walnut Street consistent with a breaking and entering attempt. 

Lee was arrested and charged with:

1st Degree Burglary x2

Malicious Destruction of Property x2

Lee was released on his own recognizance after an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
