On 10.21.2016 at approximately 9:00 PM Deputies of The Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to Mt. Savage Road (Route 36) in Mt. Savage for a reported vehicle crash.
Deputies arrived on scene along with Mt. Savage Fire and EMS as well as Wellersburg Fire Department.
The operator was identified as 24 year old Cory Yantz of Mt. Savage.
It was learned that Yantz was operating a 2007 Chevrolet car when he failed to yield for a vehicle that was turning in front of him. In an attempt to avoid striking the vehicle, Yantz drove off the roadway and struck a telephone pole, damaging the pole and causing Mt. Savage Road to be closed for a short time.
There were no injuries reported.
